Description

The animation "Putty" follows a seven-month process, with the author completely tattooing her chest black, at the same time presenting amusing snippets from her everyday life. The work is a reference to the art of drag performance, in which the breasts are used especially for the study of gender. The end result tattoos are like two black holes that don't look like that visually, all the more so in reference to gender ambivalence.

애니메이션 ‘퍼티"는 작가가 자신의 가슴을 검은색으로 완전히 문신하는 동시에 그녀의 일상 생활에서 재미있는 단상을 제시하는 7개월의 과정을 보여준다. 이 작품은 특히 성별 연구를 위해 가슴을 사용하는 드래그 퍼포먼스 예술에 대한 참조이다. 최종 문신은 시각적으로 그렇게 보이지 않는 두 개의 블랙홀과 같으며 이는 성별 양면성과 연관된다.

Bio

Mētra Saberova is a Latvian queer feminist moving image and performance artist. She gained an MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins in 2017. She is currently doing a practice-based PhD at London South Bank University, exploring the use of radical body art as a social platform to disrupt the patriarchal construction of intrinsic motherhood. She has used her own orchestrated experiences of medical tourism and bodily interventions to encourage discussions about the female body and its capabilities, including tubal ligation in Thailand, hymenoplasty in Poland, IVF consultations in Bulgaria and full breast tattoos in Latvia. Next to the international exhibitions, her focus is the scene in Riga, forming a core of the young Latvian feminist artist and activist generation. Co-founder of the Baltic Drag King Collective (est.2019).

모트라 사베로바는 라트비아의 퀴어 페미니스트 무빙 이미지 & 퍼포먼스 아티스트이다. 그녀는 2017년 센트럴 세인트 마틴에서 미술 석사 학위를 받았다. 그녀는 현재 런던 사우스 뱅크 대학에서 실기 기반 박사 학위를 받고 있으며, 내재적 모성의 가부장적 구성을 무너뜨리기 위한 사회적 플랫폼으로서의 급진적인 신체 예술을 탐구하고 있다. 그녀는 태국의 난관 결찰, 폴란드의 처녀막 성형술, 불가리아의 체외 수정 상담, 라트비아의 전체 가슴 문신을 포함하여 여성의 몸과 그 능력에 대한 논의를 이끌어내기 위해 의료 관광 및 신체 개입에 대한 자신의 경험을 사용한다. 해외 전시를 위한 그녀의 초점은 리가의 젊은 라트비아 페미니스트 예술가 및 활동가 세대의 핵심 씬이다. 발틱 드래그 킹 콜렉티브의 공동 설립자.
