무빙이미지포럼 소개

무빙이미지포럼은 실험영화를 비롯한 동시대 무빙이미지 예술의 문화적 가치 확산과 창작 생태계 조성을 위해 창작, 연구, 아카이빙, 국제교류를 수행하는 비영리 문화예술 플랫폼입니다. 국내 유일의 실험영화 전문 영화제인 서울국제실험영화제(EXiS)를 주최하며, 국내외 창작자와 작품을 발굴·소개하고 다양한 문화예술기관과의 협력을 통해 실험영화와 무빙이미지 예술의 새로운 담론과 관객 경험을 확장하고 있습니다.

또한 실험영화의 역사와 이론, 동시대 예술 담론을 조명하는 다양한 프로그램을 기획하며, 미술관, 대안공간, 시네마테크 등 국내외 문화예술기관과 협력하여 상영, 전시, 강연, 워크숍 등 다양한 형태의 프로그램을 운영하고 있습니다. 아울러 국내외 작품과 관련 자료를 지속적으로 아카이빙하고, 창작자와 연구자를 위한 기반을 구축함으로써 무빙이미지 예술의 지속가능한 창작 생태계 조성과 문화적 다양성 확산에 기여하고 있습니다.

Moving Image Forum is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting the cultural value of experimental film and contemporary moving image art while fostering a sustainable creative ecosystem through research, archiving, and international exchange. It organizes the Experimental Film and Video Festival in Seoul (EXiS), the only film festival in Korea dedicated exclusively to experimental film, and introduces outstanding works and artists from Korea and abroad. Through collaborations with a wide range of cultural institutions, the organization expands critical discourse and audience engagement surrounding experimental cinema and moving image art.

Moving Image Forum also develops programs that explore the history, theory, and contemporary discourse of experimental film. In partnership with museums, alternative art spaces, cinematheques, and other cultural organizations, it presents screenings, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and interdisciplinary programs. In addition, it continuously archives films and related materials, providing a foundation for artists and researchers while contributing to the sustainability of the creative ecosystem and the cultural diversity of moving image art.

연혁
