One day in Japan, a young man found out that a place he had thought his only home country rejected him. "Destination Nowhere" is a mix between an artist's process of making a new art work and a story about a young man who inspires the work. It's also a story about Thailand, Japan, and the in-between world.

프라팟 지와랑산은 1979년 방콕 태생으로 시각예술가이자 영화작가다. 그는 다양한 매체, 특히 그 중에서도 사진과 비디오를 결합하여 태국의 역사, 기억, 정치의 관계를 탐구하고 재현하는 작품을 만들고 있다. 특히 이주와 관련된 주제를 다루고 있다.최근 4년간 그는 해외로 나간 태국 출신의 이주 노동자들의 경험을 추적해 왔다. 그의 설치작품은 방콕, 런던, 홍콩, 도쿄, 로테르담, 광주 등지에서 전시되었으며, 그의 영화작품은 다수의 국제영화제에서 상영된 바 있다.
Prapat Jiwarangsan (b.1979, Bangkok) is a visual artist and filmmaker from Thailand. In his creative explorations, he usually incorporates a variety of media, especially photography and video, in order to investigate and represent the relationships between history, memory, and politics in Thailand—particularly in relation to the theme of migration. In the past four years, he has researched and developed a practice that explores the experience of Thai migrant workers outside of their home countries. His installations have appeared in Bangkok, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Rotterdam, and Gwangju while his films have screened at international film events such as International Film Festival Rotterdam, Experimenta India, and Onion City Experimental Film and Video Festival. In 2019, he was awarded a Southeast Asian Documentary Grant from the Singapore International Film Festival for his upcoming documentary project Ploy.
