Description

Made with an optical printer, which allows one to freeze individual frames of film or change the speed of the original footage—a line of trees in Suffolk farmland. Each tree was recorded in morning and evening light, from east and west, to give four distinct images. This work lies somewhere between the still art of photography and the moving art of film.

옵티컬 프린터를 사용해 제작했다. 이 장비는 필름의 개별 프레임을 정지시키거나 원본 영상의 속도를 바꿀 수 있다. 작품은 서퍽 지방 농지에 늘어선 나무들을 촬영한 것이다. 각각의 나무는 동쪽과 서쪽에서 아침과 저녁 빛을 받아 총 네 가지 다른 모습으로 기록되었다. 이 작품은 사진이라는 정지 예술과 영화라는 움직이는 예술의 중간 지점에 놓여 있다.
