Description

Portales follows the course of the Guadalete River in Cádiz, Spain, from the mountains to the sea: a catalog of landscapes that hide other landscapes, a collection of interdimensional portals (and postcards) that fuses real action and animation creating an impossible fauna and flora, inventing a new history and geography for a humble waterway.

<포탈>은스페인 카디스에 있는 과달레테 강의 상류에서 하류까지, 산에서 바다에 이르기까지의 여정을 따라간다. 이 작품은 다른 풍경을 숨기고 있는 풍경들의 목록이며, 현실의 움직임과 애니메이션을 결합해 불가능한 동식물을 창조하고, 엽서처럼 펼쳐지는 차원 간 포털들의 수집이다. 소박한 수로에 대한한 새로운 역사와 지리를 상상하며 구성된 이 작업은, 실재와 환상의 경계를 넘나든다.

Bio

Spanish-Venezuelan Elena Duque is a filmmaker, programmer, critic and teacher. Her experimental and animated pieces have been shown at international festivals such as Rotterdam, Mar del Plata, IndieLisboa, Punto de Vista and DocumentaMadrid, among others, and institutions such as Kino Arsenal or Anthology Film Archives, and her work has also been the subject of monographic sessions at places like the Filmoteca de Catalunya and the Echo Park Film Center in Los Angeles, and festivals such as Valdivia, among others. She is programmer of (S8) Mostra de Cinema Periférico in A Coruña and has programmed at the Seville Film Festival and Doc's Kingdom (Portugal). She teaches at the Camilo José Cela University in Madrid and regularly gives workshops. Her recent films include VALDEDIÓS (2019), COLECCIÓN PRIVADA (2020), MAR DE CORAL (2022) and OJITOS MENTIROSOS (2023), as well as the performance CURSO DE PINTURA RÁPIDA PARA PRINCIPIANTES (2023).

엘레나 두케는 스페인-베네수엘라 출신의 영화감독이자 프로그래머, 평론가, 교육자이다. 그녀의 실험 영화와 애니메이션은 로테르담, 마르델플라타, 인디리스보아, 푼토 데 비스타 등 다양한 국제 영화제와 함께 키노 아르세날, 앤솔로지 필름 아카이브 등의 기관에서 상영되었다. 그녀의 작품은 카탈루냐 필모테카, 로스앤젤레스 에코 파크 필름 센터, 발디비아 영화제 등에서 단독 상영되기도 했다. 라코루냐에서 열리는 (S8) 페리페리코 영화제의 프로그래머이며, 세비야 영화제와 포르투갈의 Doc’s Kingdom에서도 프로그램을 기획했다. 현재 마드리드의 카밀로 호세 셀라 대학교에서 강의 중이며, 정기적으로 워크숍도 진행하고 있다. 주요 작품으로는 <발데디오스>(2022), <개인 소장품>(2023) 등이 있으며, 퍼포먼스 작업 <초보자를 위한 속성 회화 수업>(2023)도 선보였다.
