Description

Aided by machine learning, a bioengineer creates a mutant enzyme inspired by larvae capable of digesting plastic. Insects, sapiens, models and machines are consumed by extraction, ingestion, excretion, and an unconscious drive to return to a state of matter before life.

한 생명공학자가 머신러닝의 도움을 받아 플라스틱을 소화할 수 있는 유충(애벌레)에게서 영감을 얻은 돌연변이 효소를 만들어낸다. 곤충, 사피엔스, 모델, 그리고 기계들은 추출, 섭취, 배설, 그리고 생명이 생겨나기 전의 물질 상태로 돌아가려는 무의식적인 충동에 의해 집어삼켜진다.

Bio

Kara Ditte Hansen is an artist who works with film, video, collage and installation. Her films have been screened at such venues as the 13th Seoul Media City Biennale, DOXA Documentary Film Festival, WNDX festival of moving image, e-flux screening room, Prismatic Ground, Vancouver International Film Festival, Gene Siskel Film Center, Milwaukee Underground Film Festival, Cosmic Rays, Light Matter Film Festival, Onion City Film Festival, and Antimatter.

카라 디테 한센은 영화, 비디오, 콜라주, 설치 작업을 중심으로 활동하는 예술가이다. 한센의 영화는 제13회 서울미디어시티비엔날레를 비롯해 독스 다큐멘터리 영화제, 윈덱스 무빙이미지 페스티벌, 이플럭스 스크리닝 룸, 프리즘매틱 그라운드, 밴쿠버국제영화제, 진 시스켈 필름센터, 밀워키 언더그라운드 영화제, 코스믹 레이스, 라이트 매터 영화제, 어니언 시티 영화제, 안티매터 미디어아트 페스티벌 등 세계 주요 영화제와 전시 기관에서 상영 및 소개되었다.
