Description

대관람차의 승객은 지상에서 출발하여 꼭대기에 이르는 동안 다양한 시점을 경험한다. 35미리 사진용 필름으로 촬영 후 생성형 AI로 만든 동영상은 인간의 시점과 AI시점이 섞인 결과물이다. 영화는 편집과정을 거친 후, 대관람차에서 볼 수있는 통상의 시점을 벗어나 새로운 시점을 제시한다.

As a Ferris wheel ascends from the ground to its peak, passengers experience a shifting array of perspectives. This film, captured on 35mm photographic film and processed through generative AI, represents a hybrid fusion of human and machine vision. Through the deliberate act of editing, the work transcends the conventional vantage points of a Ferris wheel, ultimately unveiling an entirely new dimension of sight.

Bio

서원태(1977년생)는 실험영화, 다큐멘터리, 극영화, 사진, 설치미술을 아우르며 작업하는 작가이다. 그는 허구와 논픽션의 경계가 교차하는 지점에서 서사를 구축해 왔으며, 자연과 사회의 풍경을 주요 소재로 삼아 현실과 허구, 자연과 인간, 시간과 공간의 층위를 실험적으로 엮어내는 시각 언어를 탐구한다.

최근 주요 전시로는 《아시아라는 장치》(국립아시아문화전당, 광주, 2026), 《서울국제패션아트비엔날레: 자연과의 조화 – 지속가능한 패션 아트》(문화비축기지 T4, 서울, 2024), 《Solar Vision》(아트코리아랩, 서울, 2023), 그리고 《미래학교》(2021 베니스건축비엔날레 한국관, 자르디니, 베니스, 2021) 등이 있다.

Seo Won-tae (b. 1977) is an artist whose practice spans experimental film, documentary, narrative cinema, photography, and installation art. He frequently constructs narratives that operate at the intersection of fiction and non-fiction. By using natural and social landscapes as his subject matter, Seo explores a visual language that experimentally weaves together layers of reality and fiction, nature and humanity, and time and space.

His recent exhibitions include <Asia the Apparatus>(ACC, Gwangju, 2026), <Seoul International Fashion Art Biennale: Harmony with Nature – Sustainable Fashion Art> (Oil Tank Culture Park T4, Seoul, 2024), <Solar Vision> (Art Korea Lab, Seoul, 2023), and <Future School> at the Korean Pavilion of the Venice Biennale of Architecture (Giardini, Venice, 2021).
