Description

바다에서 만든 무성 영화. 배가 제주도의 한 항구에서 출발해, 지층을 훑고는, 어느 연안에 이른다. 고정된 쇼트로만 구성된 본 영화는, 프레임 내외를 오가며 비행하는 갈매기, 햇빛에 따라 색이 변해가는 바다의 표면, 그리고 연안 사물들의 미묘한 움직임을 포착한다.

A silent film made at sea. A ship departs from a port in Jeju Island, traces the geological layers, and arrives at the shoreline. Composed entirely of fixed shots, the film seeks to capture seagulls flying in and out of the frame, the sea surface changing color under sunlight, and the subtle movements of objects along the shore.

일환은 서울 기반의 필름메이커이다. 그는 필름 콜텍티브 로트링겐의 창립자이기도 하다. 그의 영화는 전시 및 국내외 상영을 통해 공개되었다. 그의 영화는 언어적 서술을 최소화한 실험적 다큐멘터리로서, 영화의 시각성과 이미지의 서정적 연속성을 통해 세계를 사유한다.

Il-hwan is a filmmaker based in Seoul. He is also the founder of the film collective Lothringen. His films have been shown in various exhibitions and screenings in South Korea and abroad. His films are experimental documentaries that minimize linguistic construction, reflecting on the world through the visuality of cinema and the lyrical continuity of images.
