Description
원래는 1957년에 촬영되었고, 1978년에 편집되었다. 주인공인 시인 마이클 맥클루어는 유리 가게와 자동차 창문, 유리병, 거울 등에 반사된 이미지들로부터 등장한다. 그리고 오직 유리에만 반사된 이 이미지들은 1957년의 맥클루어 자신과 샌프란시스코 시의 정확한 모습을 보여준다. 동시에 이 작품은 서정적이고 신비로운 작품으로 맥클루어의 얼굴 숏의 삽입 컷들의 리듬의 고조로 이어지면서도 여전히 움직이지 않는 도시의 표면들에 잡혀있는 것처럼 보인다. 음악은 윌리엄 모랄도가 작곡하였다. 나는 이 작품을 “초기" 작품으로 생각하지 않는데, 1978년에 완성되었기 때문이다. 
Originally shot in 1957 and edited in 1978. The protagonist, poet Michael McClure, emerges from the all-reflection imagery of glass shop and car windows, bottles, mirrors, etc. in scenes which are also accurate portraits of both McClure and the city of San Francisco in 1957. At the same time it is a lyric and mystical film, building to a crescendo of rhythmically intercut shots of McClure's face, seemingly trapped on the glazed surface of the city. Music by William Moraldo. I don't think of this as an "early film" anymore, since it never came together until '78. Now it's tight.
