나는 내가 집에서 발견한 것들을 가지고 하나의 관계를 35mm 필름에 전사한다. 아기의 숨결, 내 아버지가 쓴 사랑 편지, 내 연인이 내게 준 감광지. 이 작품은 테라야마 슈지의 1977년작 “그림자 영화: 머리가 두 개인 여자"에서 영감을 받았다.
I transcribe a relationship on 35mm film with what I find at home: the flower baby’s breath, love letters my father wrote and light sensitive papers my lover gave me. A film inspired by Shadow Film: A Woman with Two Heads (Nito-onna: Kage No Eiga) (1977) by Shuji Terayama.

Bio
에리카 쉬우는 대만에서 성장한 실험영화작가다. 그녀의 작품은 종종 자신과의 화해를 염두에 둔 다이어리 필름의 작법을 활용하고 있다. 그녀는 국립동화대학교에서 영문학을 공부하였고, 뉴욕 뉴스쿨에서 영화를 공부했다. 그녀의 작품은 영화작가조합, 마이크로스코프 갤러리, 2018 타이완 비엔날레 등에서 상영되었고, 현재 그녀는 뉴욕 퀸즈에 근거지를 두고 있다.
Erica Sheu is an experimental filmmaker who was raised in Taiwan. Her work often explores diaristic filmmaking as a practice of reconciliation with one's self. Sheu holds a BA in English from National Dong Hwa University in Taiwan. She took filmmaking courses and workshops at The New School and Mono No Aware in New York. Her work has shown at The Film-Makers' Cooperative, Microscope Gallery and Al's Cinematique in New York, Detour Gallery (ISFF) in New Jersey, Tai Kwun Contemporary in Hong Kong, and Taipei Contemporary Art Center and 2018 Taiwan Biennial at National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taiwan. Sheu is currently based in Queens, New York.
