성스러운 주간의 축제 동안 멕시코 타라우마라족은 얼굴과 몸에 색을 칠하고 춤을 추는 의식을 행한다. 열정의 행렬은 두 종류의 “바리새인"을 보여준다. 한 쪽은 흰옷을 입고 거칠게 분칠을 하였다. 다른 쪽은 거의 벌거벗고 깃털 투구를 쓰고 큰 흰점을 그렸다. 아이들과 청소년, 청년들과 부족의 모든 남자들은 나이든 기수를 따라서 집단을 이루고 있다. 그들은 계속되는 북소리에 맞춰서 3일 밤낮 동안 마을을 차지하고 있다.  그들은 무엇인가를 기리고 있는가? 아니면 전쟁을 준비하고 있는가? 가죽 가면을 쓴 낯선 인물은 유목부족의 전사들의 지휘관의 전통을 뒤집는 것 같아 보인다. 부활절 아침에 이 축제는 갑자기 끝이 나고 두 사람이 복잡한 문양의 보디페인팅을 하고 느린 춤을 춘다. 이들은 유다의 죽음을 상징하게 될 것이다. 전날 밤에 이들은 새벽까지 자신들의 역할을 배우게 된다. 
On the occasion of Holy Week celebrations, Tarahumaras Indians of Mexico invent (or find) rites of dances by men with painted faces and bodies. The processions of the Passion depict two kinds of "Pharisees”: one dressed in white and coarsely chalked; the other, almost naked, wearing feather helmets, all marked with large white spots. Children, teenagers, young men, all the men of the tribe are organized as a band under the leadership of an older flag dancer. They occupy the village site for three days and three nights, without interruption, to the obstinate sound of the drums. Commemoration or preparation for what battle? For the strange figure of the leather masked pestador seems to be reverting to the tradition of the leader of nomadic warriors. On the morning of Easter, the public celebrations will end abruptly with the appearance of the two Pascoleros with their learned body paintings, with their subtle double dance: they will be the signal of Judas' death. On the previous night, in the Rancheria where the Pascoleros learned until dawn about their role, the native rituals took place, far from the eyes of the Métis. The indigenous festival will continue until Tezguin (but fermented) is exhausted.
