열기와 환호성이 지나간 자리, 스타디움을 청소하는 사람들이 있다. 이들은 객석 각 층을 도맡아 전진하며 쓰레기를 치운다. 노동의 능숙함과 속도의 차이가 드러날 때, 이 모습은 흡사 객석 사이를 걸어 나가는 스포츠이자 경쟁처럼 보이기도 한다. 이러한 화면 위로 수집된 대화가 낭독된다. 노동자들이 서로에게 전하는 ‘일할 때의 요령’, 이른바 ‘꿀팁’에 대한 내용이다. 이 ‘꿀팁’은 처지가 비슷한 사람들이 나누는 걱정과 조언이지만, 이윤 공동체, 또는 계급 간의 경쟁을 노골적으로 드러내기도 한다. 더 나아가 금융자본의 식민주의에서 살아남는 법을 공유하는 것으로도 해석될 수도 있다. 영상 작업 <의자 위를 걸으며>는 생존 감각을 공유하는 언어에 주목하면서 우리 시대의 ‘연대’에 관한 서술을 시도한다. 뿐만 아니라 ‘연대’가 단순한 온정주의가 아님을 강조하기도 한다. 비동맹 운동의 인민사가 그러하듯, 연대란 결코 순전한 영웅적 행위가 아닐 것이다. 인민의 대표, 조직, 지도자들이 숱한 오류를 저지르며 투쟁 역사를 써왔듯이, 연대란 모순과 복잡성을 담지하는 것이기도 하다.

There are people cleaning the stadium, where excitement and cheers pass by. They take charge of each floor of seats and clean up the garbage. When the difference in the cleaning skills and speed is revealed, it looks like a sport or competition walking on the seats. As these scenes are shown, the collected conversations are readout. It is about the “tips and advice when working" and so-called "honey tips" that workers tell each other. These "honey tips" are the worry and sympathy shared by people in similar situations, but it also openly reveals competition among the classes. Furthermore, it can be interpreted as sharing the methods to survive the colonialism of financial capital. The video work, Walking on the Chairs tries to describe what a contemporary 'solidarity' is, paying attention to the language that shares a sense of survival. It also emphasizes that solidarity is not just compassion. As the people's history of the Non-Aligned Movement demonstrated, solidarity will never be a purely heroic act. Representatives, organizations, and leaders of the people have made numerous mistakes and written histories of struggle, but solidarity is also about containing contradictions and complexity.
