Description

화가 허윤희와의 협업으로 제작된 이 작품은, 네 개의 100피트 길이 16mm 필름에 다중 노출 기법으로 일출을 촬영한 1년간의 작업을 기록한다. 네 개의 필름 롤은 각각 가을, 겨울, 봄, 여름을 나타내며, 하나의 필름 롤 위에 일곱 차례의 일출 촬영이 중첩되어 시간과 빛의 압축된 기록을 만들어낸다.

In collaboration with painter Huh Yunhee, this work documents a year-long practice of filming the sunrise through multiple exposures on four 100ft rolls of 16mm film. Each of the four rolls represents a season (fall, winter, spring, summer) with seven separate sunrise shoots layered onto a single roll of film, creating a compressed record of time and light.

조나단 승준 리(2000년생, 아르헨티나 부에노스아이레스 출생)는 16mm 필름을 수작업으로 가공하는 아날로그 영화 제작 방식을 기반으로, 가족과 생태, 영성에 관한 주제를 탐구하는 한국계 미국인 비디오 아티스트이자 영화감독이다.

Jonathan Seungjoon Lee (2000 / Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a Korean American video artist and filmmaker working with themes of family, ecology, and spirituality through handmade celluloid processes on 16mm film.
