Description

어느날 낯선 사람의 이름이 적힌 우편물이 도착했다. 생각해보니 예전에도 비슷한 일이 있었다. 내 집에 살던 누군가에게 온 편지였다. 그 사람도 나처럼 세입자였을테니, 어딘가에서 나처럼 잘못 배송된 우편물을 받고 있을지도 모를 일이다. 우편물이 쌓이고 그 이름이 익숙해질 때쯤, 그 사람에게 편지를 써보자는 생각이 떠올랐다. 나와 같은 공간을 공유한 사람, 내가 본 것을 보았던 사람, 내가 살고 있는 흔적의 주인이었던 그 사람에게.

One day a mail with a stranger's name arrived. Come to think of it, something similar happened in the past. It was a letter to someone who lived in my house. He must have been a tenant like me, so he might be receiving a mail delivered incorrectly like me somewhere. By the time the mail piled up and the name became familiar, it occurred to me to write a letter to the person. To the person who shared the same space as me, the person who saw what I see, the person who was the owner of the trace I lived in.

Bio

위스콘신주립대학 밀워키에서 실험영화를 전공했다. 공간과 사물들을 카메라에 담는 배회와 관찰을 주된 작업방식으로 삼으며 그렇게 채집한 이미지들로 다양한 실험적인 단편영화들을 만들어왔다. ‹층›, ‹서피스›, ‹트랜슬레이터›, ‹글라이더›, ‹시간이 되돌리는 시간› 등의 영화들이 전주국제영화제, 서울국제실험영화페스티벌, 밀워키국제영화제, 벨로이트국제영화제 등 국내외의 영화제를 통해 소개되었다.

Junehyuck Jeon majored experimental video at University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee campus. He have made several experimental shorts with casually gathered footages of space and things while strolling in the cityscape. Layers, Surface, Translator, Glider, Time Reversed Time and some other shorts have introduced to various festivals including Jeonju International Film Festival, EXiS, Milwaukee film fest, Beloit film fest, etc.
