Description

The voices of five women gradually fill the sound space of the film, weaving a pattern: a tarot card reader ; a woman who survived one of the most horrific cases of sexual violence and homicide in Italy in the 1970s; a woman who is accused of killing four people; a woman tells of her relationship with death and a woman who has found her way in life through religious practice. These voices deal, in different ways, with the relationship to life through the discourse of death.

다섯 여성의 목소리는 점차 영화의 사운드 공간을 채우며 하나의 패턴을 엮어나간다. 이 작품은 1970년대 이탈리아에서 가장 끔찍한 성폭력 및 살인 사건 중 하나에서 살아남은 여성; 4명을 살해한 혐의를 받는 여성; 죽음과 자신의 관계에 대해 이야기하는 여성; 종교적 실천을 통해 삶의 길을 찾은 여성의 이야기를 담고 있다. 이 목소리들은 죽음의 담론을 통해 삶과의 관계를 다양한 방식으로 다룬다.

Bio

After completing a degree in film studies in Rome university and a diploma in cinematography Chiara Caterina attended a post-degree in Le Fresnoy - Studio National des Arts Contemporains in Lille (FR). Her short film “Avant la nuit” (Before night falls) was awarded and selected in many international festivals among others at the 27 European Media Art Festival in Osnabrueck, the 30th Hamburg International Short Film Festival, the 10th Berwick Film and Media art Festiva, the Videoformes 2015 International Festival in Clermont-Ferrand, Kasseler Dok und Video Fest. Her documentary “Il mondo o niente” (The world or nothing) was selected among others at the 58 Festival dei Popoli and the Festival du cinéma de Brive. Her short film "Enchantment" was selected and awarded at 36 International Critic's Week at 78 Venice Film Festival in 2021 and in many others film festival. Her last short film “La stanza lucida” (Lucid Room) will premiere at 37 International Critic's Week in Venice.

로마 대학교에서 영화학 학위를 마친 후 시네마토그래피 학위를 받은 치아라 카테리나(Chiara Caterina)는 프랑스 릴르의 르 프레스노이 - 스튜디오 나시오날 데 아르 콩테템포랭(Le Fresnoy - Studio National des Arts Contemporains)에서 석사과정을 이수하였다. 그녀의 단편영화 "Avant la nuit" (밤이 오기 전에)는 27회 유럽 미디어 아트 페스티벌(27 European Media Art Festival)에서 수상 및 선정되었으며, 30회 함부르크 국제 단편영화 페스티벌(30th Hamburg International Short Film Festival), 10회 버윅 영화 및 미디어 아트 페스티벌(10th Berwick Film and Media art Festival), Videoformes 2015 국제 페스티벌(Videoformes 2015 International Festival) 등 다수의 국제 페스티벌에서 선정되었다. 그녀의 다큐멘터리 "Il mondo o niente" (세상이거나 아무것도 아닌)는 58회 페스티발 데이 포폴리(58 Festival dei Popoli) 및 브리브 영화 페스티벌(Festival du cinéma de Brive) 등에서 선정되었다. 그녀의 단편영화 "마법"은 2021년 78회 베니스 영화제의 36회 국제비평가의 주간(36 International Critic's Week at 78 Venice Film Festival)에서 선정 및 수상되었으며, 다른 다수의 영화 페스티벌에서도 선정되었다. 그녀의 최신 단편영화 "La stanza lucida" (명료한 방)는 37회 베니스 국제비평가의 주간(37 International Critic's Week in Venice)에서 월드 프리미어 예정이다.
