2019년 여름 나는 고향 장시성으로 돌아와 더위를 피해 친구들과 함께 루샨 국립공원을 여행했다. 이번 여행으로 20여년 만에 루샨을 다시 찾은 것이다. 어릴적 어머니와 조부모님은 여름 동안 나를 루산에 자주 데리고 가셨다. 우리는 이번에 가서 두 달간 그곳에 머물 것이다. 산에서, 우리는 경치를 보고, 영화관에 가고, 구링 공원에서 즐거운 시간을 보낼것이다.
"이 사진은 루샨의 구링 공원에서 페인트 칠을 한 판을 사용해 촬영했어." 한 여성이 사진 뒤에 있는 이야기를 회상한다. 1980년대의 어느 화창한 여름날, 그녀의 가족은 더위를 피해 루샨으로 갔다. 그녀의 기억이 펼쳐질 때, 습기에 의해 손상된 바로 그 사진처럼 우리는 점차 잊혀진 역사와 마주하게 된다.

In the summer of 2019, I returned to my hometown Jiangxi Province and traveled with friends to Lushan Mountain to escape the heat; this trip was the first time in more than 20 years that I had visited Lushan. As a child, my mother and grandparents frequently took me to Lushan during the summer. We would stay there for two months at a time. In the mountain, we would look at the scenery, go to the cinema and enjoy the time in the Kuling park.
“The photo was taken using a painted board in Kuling Park on Lushan…” A woman is reminiscing about the story behind a photograph: it was a bright summer day in the 1980s. Her family traveled to Lushan to escape the heat. As her memory unfolds, we gradually come to see the forgotten history and that very photograph being damaged by water stain.
