우리의 손이 티슈를 잡아 뽑을 때, 저마다 다른 형상이 나타난다. 나는 그 형상들이 사람의 무의식적인 행위와, 여린 티슈가 만나서 빚어내는 찰나의 소우주처럼 여겨졌다. 휴지의 우연적 조형성이 마치 각자의 삶을 부여받은 생명처럼 말이다. 이 형상들은 도대체 어디에서 와서 어디로 사라져 사람들의 기억 속에서 잊혀지고 마는가. 나는 스톱모션의 프레임 조작과 드로잉 애니메이션을 통해 마치 휴지가 하나씩 자라나 다양한 형상을 만들어내는 순간들을 만들어보기로 했다.

Every time another tissue is being popped up, a new figure appears. The encounter of human’s unconscious activity and a tissue of no specific materiality - a phenomenon that resembles the glance of microcosm. I pressed the camera in that coincidental moment where the encounter between non-material/non-figurative things and human body was recorded. My topic was the wherefrom and whereto of these figures that simply vanish from people’s memories. The various sides that face birth and death simultaneously was grown through the tools of stop motion frame manipulation and drawing animation.
