이 작품은 작가의 이력에서 매우 독특한 위치를 점하고 있다. 이 작품은 투명하게 여러 프레임(문, 거울, 스크린)을 보여주면서 가상의 원근법을 만들어내는데, 그 가운데 있는 것은 작가 자신의 실루엣이다. 이 일차적인 재현에 더해지는 것은 장치 한가운데의 심연으로 필름을 루핑하고 있는 카메라의 현전 자체다. 또한 좌우 및 상하가 뒤집혀진 스캐닝은 모든 기계 장치의 무한한 복잡성을 보여준다. (엘리자베스 제니)
Autoportrait au dispositif  occupies a special place in the filmmaker's work. This film, of great intellectual refinement, fits in transparently a series of frames (door, mirror, screen), thus creating a false perspective in the middle of which, and in a certain blur, appears the silhouette of the director. To this first level of a representation already put in abyss is added, at the centre of the device, the presence of a camera looping a film being made. The tape is here materialized by the film. A right-left and upper-bottom alternative scanning to ensure the infinitely complex character of all machinery. (Elisabeth Jenny)
