“It’s still dark in the garden when he comes. Like in a dream, he walks. On the rooftop they sit in silence. The river begins to murmur.”

A moving image work collectively made and filmed at the residence of Mrs Lương and Mr. Mạnh Đức, a home in close proximity to the collective and their community of artist friends for many years. In this playground, a mystical world emerges; a cinema is reenacted. As the film unfolds, a river, a garden, spirits, wooden structures, people and objects appear, dissolve and reappear, as if they were characters morphing into one another.

"그가 올 때 정원은 아직 어둠 속이다. 꿈속에서처럼, 그는 걷는다. 옥상에서 그들은 말없이 앉아 있다. 강이 속삭이기 시작한다."

루엉 여사와 만 득 선생의 집에서 콜렉티브가 함께 만들고 촬영한 무빙 이미지 작품. 이 집은 오랜 세월 동안 콜렉티브와 그들의 예술가 친구들 공동체가 가까이 머물던 공간이다. 이 놀이터 같은 장소에서 신비로운 세계가 떠오르고, 하나의 시네마가 재연된다. 영화가 펼쳐지면서 강, 정원, 영혼들, 목조 구조물, 사람들과 사물들이 등장했다가 사라지고 다시 나타나기를 반복하며, 마치 서로 다른 인물들이 하나로 뒤섞이듯 변해간다.

Bio

Nhà Sàn Collective (NSC) began operating as an independent artist collective in 2013. The name Nhà Sàn signifies the collective’s foundation which is rooted in the spirit of Nhà Sàn Studio, an artist-run space founded in 1998 in Hanoi. With or without a physical base, NSC has worked with friends, colleagues, and collaborators to organize exhibitions, workshops, film screenings, talks, and other activities as a support platform for artists in the community. Some of the collective’s long-running serial projects include Skylines With Flying People, IN:ACT Performance Art Festival, and the Emerging Artists Programme. The collective board consists of Nguyễn Phương Linh, Nguyễn Quốc Thành, Tuấn Mami, Vũ Đức Toàn, and Trương Quế Chi. In 2022, NSC and friends participated in Documenta15 curated by Ruangrupa. 

냐산 콜렉티브(NSC)는 2013년 독립 예술가 집단으로 활동을 시작했다. '냐산'이라는 이름은 1998년 하노이에서 설립된 예술가 자주 운영 공간인 냐산 스튜디오의 정신을 뿌리로 삼고 있음을 뜻한다. 물리적 거점의 유무와 관계없이, NSC는 친구, 동료, 협력자들과 함께 전시, 워크숍, 영화 상영, 강연 등 다양한 활동을 조직하며 지역 예술가들을 위한 지원 플랫폼으로 기능해왔다. 콜렉티브의 장기 연속 프로젝트로는 《하늘을 나는 사람들과 스카이라인》, 《IN:ACT 퍼포먼스 아트 페스티벌》, 《신진 예술가 프로그램》 등이 있다. 콜렉티브 운영진은 응우옌 프엉 린, 응우옌 꾸옥 탄, 뚜언 마미, 부 득 또안, 쯔엉 꾸에 찌로 구성되어 있다. 2022년에는 루앙루파가 기획한 도큐멘타15에 NSC와 그 동료들이 참여했다.
