이 영화는 검은색 종이와 라이트 박스위에서 간단히 지우는 실험으로 시작되었다. 검정색에서 흰색으로의 움직임의 변화는 회전 프리즘을 통해 촬영해 증폭되었다. 결과적으로 영화는 콘트라스트가 높은 흑백 필름으로 촬영한 것이 흥미롭기는 했지만 움직임은 거의 없었다. 색을 추가하는 것으로 이를 보완했다. 네거티브와 포지티브를 만들고 잉크와 페인트로 필름을 손으로 채색했다. 두 개의 롤을 준비해 함께 인화를 했다. 현상소에 A&B롤 인화를 하면서 한 프레임이 서로 다르게 되는 실수를 했는데, 이것이 우연적인 선물이었다. 결과물에서 프레임의 차이로 인해 약간의 그림자가 원래 이미지를 더 풍부하게 만들었다. 난 이어지는 다른 프린트를 만들면서도 현상소에게 계속 같은 방식의 실수를 주문했다. 음악은 전통적인 터키 결혼 행진곡이다. 영화가 두 개의 필름 스트립의 결합과 두 가지 아이디어의 결합으로 되어 있었기에, 난 음악에서도 같은 생각을 전달하는게 맘에 들었다.

This film began as an experiment with animating simple wipes on a light box with black paper. The animated transitions from black to white were amplified by shooting through a rotating prism. The resulting film, shot in high contrast black-and-white was interesting, but not quite a movie. Adding color was my solution. I made a positive and a negative of the film and then hand-colored them with ink and paint. Then I had the film printed as A and B rolls (printed on top of each other). The lab made a slight mistake with the first print, the A roll was one frame ahead of the B roll. Their mistake was an accidental gift. By printing a frame off, a tiny kind of drop shadow was created which gave the wipes a little more body and impact. I had them repeat the mistake on every subsequent print. The music is a traditional Turkish wedding march. I liked the idea of union that it suggested, as the film is a union of two ideas and two strips of film.
