Description

Sandy Bay, Tasmania. Inogen and Audrey navigate their lives in isolation. Finding ways to articulate their reality while feeding hopeless in a place that doesn't suit their young lives, On Plains of Larger River & Woodlands explores the natural and arcade landscape they occupy as foreboding clouds roll in on a brink of a post-apocalyptic existence.

타스마니아의 샌디 베이. 이노젠과 오드리는 고립된 삶을 살아가고 있다. 그들은 젊은 삶에 어울리지 않는 곳에서 절망감을 느끼며 현실을 표현하는 방법을 찾는다. 이 영화는 그들이 지내는 자연과 아케이드 풍경을 탐구하며, 포스트 아포칼립스적 존재의 가장자리에서 어두운 구름이 몰려오는 모습을 그린다.

Bio

Based on the island of Tasmania, Miguel de Jesus was born in Praia do Carvoeiro (Algarve) and grew up in Lisbon. He completed a Bachelor of Cinema in the editing department at the Lisbon Theatre and Film School (ESTC), and has worked with directors such as João Pedro Rodrigues, Fern Silva, Pia Borg and Paulo Carneiro.

Cerro dos Pios, his debut in directing, received the National Competition Jury Award at Doclisboa and the D.Quijote Award from the International Federation of Cineclubs at Caminhos do Cinema Português.

His latest film, On Plains of Larger River & Woodlands, premiered at Rotterdam IFF.

태즈매니아 섬에서 활동하는 미구엘 드 제수스는 카르보에이루 (포르투갈 알가르베주)에서 태어나 리스본에서 자랐다. 그는 리스본 연극영화학교(ESTC)에서 편집전공으로 영화학사 학위를 취득했으며, 주앙 페드로 로드리게스, 펀 실바, 피아 보르그, 파울로 카르네이로 등의 감독들과 함께 작업해 왔다. 감독 데뷔작인 “피오스 언덕"은 도클리스보아(Doclisboa)에서 국내 부문 심사위원상을, 포르투갈 까미노스 두 시네마(Caminhos do Cinema Português)에서 국제 시네클럽 연맹(International Federation of Cineclubs)으로부터 D.Quijote 상을 받았다. 

그의 최신 영화인 “더 큰 강과 숲의 평원에서”는 로테르담 IFF에서 초연됐다.
